When a curator publishes or revises an official ranking, BIRI™ writes a verification record to the Stability Global Trust Network, a public blockchain. The network returns a transaction reference, which is stored against the organisation’s record and displayed on its public BIRI™ certificate page.
From the certificate, anyone can open that record on Stability’s public explorer and confirm for themselves that it exists and when it was written. The BIRI™ widget an organisation displays on its own site links to the same certificate, so a visitor can move from a displayed score to the underlying verification record in a single step.
No. A revised ranking creates a new record on the Stability Global Trust Network. Earlier records remain in place and cannot be edited or removed, by BIRI™ or by anyone else.
The effect is an append-only, time-stamped history of every official ranking and every change to it, held on infrastructure that BIRI™ does not control. A ranking cannot be quietly raised, lowered or backdated without the discrepancy becoming evident.
BIRI™ asks people to place confidence in an assessment of who is reliable. An index that makes that claim should not be the sole custodian of its own record. Anchoring each published ranking to a network outside our control means the integrity of a ranking, and of its history, can be established independently of any assurance we offer. No assessment notes, curator identities, correspondence, member information or personal data are written to the network.
Community rankings submitted by members are held within the BIRI™ platform and contribute to the assessment process, but they are distinct from the curated ranking. The blockchain record is created for the official ranking — the figure published on the certificate and returned by the widget and the API.
Current rankings are available to subscribers through the BIRI™ website and the BIRI™ Research Assistant.
New accounts can register and use the app free for 50 BIRI™ searches, roughly 4 research prompts. After that, a subscription is required to continue using the Research Assistant.
The Research Assistant runs on search credits, and the number of credits available depends on your plan or subscription. From the start, you connect an AI provider of your choice — such as Ollama, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini or OpenRouter — using your own API key.
Subscriptions support the ongoing research, assessment and maintenance required to keep BIRI™ independent while funding continued development of the platform.
Concessional Member is S$7/month. Member Subscription is S$30/month. Corporate rates and sponsor packages are also available.
Anyone can submit a community ranking through the webapp at any time. A formal appeal of the official ranking is available to subscribers only, and only to the owner of the organisation. Consultants, agents or attorneys acting on an owner’s behalf must provide a signed director’s letter, which will be checked. A fee applies, and only one formal appeal is permitted every three months.
Subscribers can download their Research Assistant search history to use as a knowledge base with their own AI tools. Consulting opportunities and social features are also available to subscribers through the BIRI™ webapp.
